We’re hiring a Production Coordinator
This role turns bold artistic vision into seamless, safe, and unforgettable theatrical experiences.
You’ll work at the intersection of artistry and logistics—designing the systems, processes, and workflows that bring immersive, site-specific theatre to life. This role is ideal for a detail-driven manager who thrives in creative environments, loves solving real-world challenges, and brings clarity and calm to complex live events. We care deeply about the experiences we create, and we’re excited to collaborate with someone who shares that passion.
Who we are
Three years ago, we set out to blur the line between art and audience—to build a world where theatre doesn’t just entertain, but awakens. From airplane hangars to historic houses, ROŪGE has become a home for immersive, site-specific, and community-centered storytelling that transforms familiar spaces into living, breathing worlds.
In 2024, we brought Rosie the Riveter to life inside an actual aircraft hangar, launched Pride and Prejudice and Dragons in an art museum, and reimagined Romeo & Juliet through a contemporary, haunted lens on the lawn of a 300-year-old house. In 2025, we’re expanding our reach—growing partnerships, cultivating new artists, and deepening our connection to the audiences who make it all possible.
We’re a creative, collaborative team of artists, producers, and dreamers building experiences that move people—in body, mind, and spirit. Our operating principles guide how we relate, create, and choose; they shape the culture that fuels every production.
If you’re energized by bold storytelling, visual creativity, and audience connection, you’ll fit right in.
Role Responsibilities
At ROŪGE, our operating principles are part of every role. We expect everyone who joins the team to actively shape our culture—living these values in action, conversation, and collaboration.
Role-specific responsibilities:
Bridge art and logistics. Translate creative vision into practical systems, ensuring that every production runs safely, smoothly, and with artistic integrity.
Facilitate production planning end-to-end. From early design meetings through strike, manage budgets, schedules, crews, and communication with precision and care.
Champion collaboration. Serve as the connective thread between directors, designers, technicians, and community partners—fostering trust and creative flow.
Oversee storage and maintenance. Maintain organized, efficient systems for equipment, props, and scenic elements—preserving resources and preparing ROŪGE for future productions.
Elevate process and quality. Build refined systems for production management that balance efficiency with artistry and reflect ROŪGE’s high standards for excellence.
Solve real-world challenges with calm and creativity. Anticipate obstacles, navigate shifting priorities, and keep the team grounded through change.
At the end of your first 30 days, you will have:
Attended rehearsals and production meetings, gaining a deep understanding of ROŪGE’s artistic process and working rhythm.
Established strong relationships with key collaborators—artistic leadership, designers, venue partners, and crew.
Streamlined or clarified at least one element of the production workflow (budget tracking, scheduling, or communication).
Supported active rehearsals or installs, demonstrating readiness to take ownership of logistics and safety.
Contributed to the creative conversation by asking thoughtful questions, naming tensions openly, and helping turn ideas into action.
Laughed at least once during rehearsal.
About You
You work in alignment with our values and operating principles.
You balance imagination with grounded execution. You have the judgment to know when to dream bigger and when to lock in logistics—bringing artistry and order into harmony. You turn abstract ideas into tangible experiences with precision, care, and presence. You hold high standards without losing humanity.
You build systems that empower creativity. You see beyond a single show, designing processes that make future productions stronger, safer, and more efficient. You think holistically—considering the artist’s experience, the audience’s journey, and the emotional and logistical flow that ties them together.
You lead through collaboration. You bring people together across disciplines, communicating clearly and calmly even in high-pressure moments. You don’t rely on authority—you inspire alignment through trust, empathy, and follow-through.
You take ownership of challenges and see them through, elevating the whole team in the process.
Additionally, we’re looking for someone with most of the following:
Experience working on complex productions or live events from planning to execution.
A track record of supporting the systems that keep art moving—balancing creativity, safety, and structure at scale.
Evidence of clear, grounded decision-making under pressure and the ability to lead through collaboration rather than control.
A fast learner with the flexibility to navigate shifting timelines, new venues, and evolving creative needs.
An eye for design and storytelling—someone who appreciates visual detail, spatial flow, and the audience experience.
Strong communication and documentation habits that make collaboration easy and transparent.
